Oh New York! I missed The City!

Such a good time I had!

I just came back from my annual USA trip — I did NYC for 10 days + Cali, San Diego for 5. Such a good trip!!

I love both places equally — for completely different reasons.

I have never actually lived in NYC, but I have been there over 25 times and spent probably a combined year altogether in the city over all those trips.

I breathe New York.

The city has its flaws — it’s dirty, grimey and worn down, and yet it’s still the most appealing place in the world despite all those traits. Or maybe partly because of them.

In fact, I recently made my own TOP 10 list of cities around the world — based purely on how I feel in those places, conveniences and my own personal experiences — and NYC tops the list, duh.

Here’s how the list looks:

  1. NYC

  2. SYDNEY

  3. HONG KONG

  4. SINGAPORE

  5. TOKYO

  6. KYOTO

  7. KRAKOW

  8. SAN DIEGO

  9. WARSZAWA

  10. KARUIZAWA / SHANGHAI

It’s wild how much I love New York every single time I visit.

From the grimey alleys of the Lower East Side, to super hip Williamsburg and Greenpoint, to bike rides across Queensboro Bridge — I love every second I get to spend over there.

To the degree that last year we decided to get married in Manhattan. And we did!

Me and Coco love the city that much.

We got married at the Manhattan City Clerk’s office and it was a great day!

I have also always had a great following of people who dig my art in NYC.

I did my very first solo art show with Mishka at their NYC store in Brooklyn back in 2013. The show was titled “100 Panthers” and I prepared 30 small watercolor paintings that I made over a few months of traveling prior to my NYC visit.

The show was a great success and opened my career to other opportunities. Back then I’d crash at Greg’s apartment, and I did a few collab tees with Mishka NYC too.

Good times.

I want to have another art show in NYC either in 2027 or 2028 and it’s already in preparation, so more on that later :)

The second stop on the trip was San Diego — my favorite place on the West Coast of the USA.

One of my favorite people, Honkey Kong, invited me to come over for the first time in 2013 and I’ve been back multiple times ever since.

SD is like a second home to me.

I’ve probably spent 9–10 months there altogether across 20+ trips. Always good times!

From San Diego Comic-Con to the beaches, we always had a great time hanging together.

I used to come over and party like there’s no tomorrow, crash on Honkey Kong’s couch for weeks at a time, and we would draw, paint and tattoo together a lot.

San Diego is an incredible town — with amazing beaches at its feet, all reachable within a 10–20 minute drive.

I’ve had some of the best times ever there, and I’ll always be back to the sunshine town.

It’s California’s best hidden secret.

You should go too.

Thanks USA — always a great time.

The only downside? Dollar is crap and You’re hella expensive!!! 😂

Can’t wait to be back next year and travel with Coco to some new places!
